Grand Theft Auto VI releases on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, at midnight local time. That date has survived two previous slips, Take-Two has said publicly that it is firm, and the Extended Look in August confirmed it on screen.
The delay history
The first trailer arrived in December 2023 with a 2025 window. In May 2025 Rockstar moved the game to May 26, 2026. In November 2025 it moved again, to November 19, 2026, with Rockstar citing the time needed to finish the game with the level of polish players expect. In February 2026 Take-Two reiterated the date and rebuffed further delay rumours.
Editions and price
Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026. There are two editions and only two, Standard at $79.99 and Ultimate at $99.99. The Ultimate Edition adds premium vehicles, weapons and apparel, which Rockstar describes as threaded across Jason and Lucia's story rather than handed over at the start.
There is no Special Edition and no physical Collector's Edition. No SteelBook, no statue, no merchandise box. That is a real break from GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, and it means anything you find advertising one is not selling a Rockstar product.
Both editions include the Vintage Vice City Pack if bought before November 20, the day after launch.
What is still unannounced
No PC version. No date, no system requirements, no store listing. No online mode either, since the store listings describe GTA 6 as a single-player experience and nothing has been announced about multiplayer at all. Preload timing and install size are widely reported and appear on no Rockstar page.
