What is a GTA guessing game?
A GTA guessing game is a daily browser puzzle that asks you to identify a character, a place, a line of dialogue or a vehicle from Grand Theft Auto, using clues that get sharper every time you guess wrong. Everyone in the world gets the same puzzle that day, and at the end you get a grid of coloured squares you can paste anywhere without spoiling the answer.
The format is Wordle's. The subject matter is not. Where Wordle scores letters inside a word, a GTA guesser scores whole subjects against each other. You guess a character, and the board tells you that you were right about their region and wrong about their line of work. That makes it a game of deduction over a body of knowledge rather than a game of vocabulary, and it is why the guess lists matter more than the guess count.
You will also see the format called a GTA guessr, a GTA Wordle, a GTA quiz or a daily GTA trivia game. They all describe the same loop. One puzzle, a handful of guesses, feedback that narrows the field, and a grid to share. The four here are the GTA 6 version of it.
The four modes, side by side
| Mode | You guess | Tries | What comes back |
|---|---|---|---|
| Classic | A character | Unlimited | Gender, side, region, line of work, first shown, trailer count |
| Map | A location in Leonida | 6 | Distance, compass direction and a proximity percentage |
| Quote | Who said the line | 6 | More of the quote is revealed with every wrong guess |
| Vehicle | A car, bike or boat | 8 | Class, manufacturer, drive, doors, era, where it was seen |
Every mode keeps its own streak, and all four reset together at 00:00 UTC. Full rules are on how to play.
How to open, in each mode
Opening guesses are not equal, and in an attribute game the best one is rarely the answer you think is likeliest. You want the guess that splits the field most evenly, because a wrong guess that eliminates half the list is worth more than a right-ish guess that eliminates three entries.
- Classic. Open with someone from a middle region rather than an extreme one. Region is the highest-information column on the board, and a guess from the edge of the map only ever rules out the edge.
- Map.Your first pin should be near the centre of Leonida, not on Vice City. A central miss gives you a usable bearing in any direction. A corner miss tells you little more than “not here”.
- Quote. Spend the first guess. You only get more of the line by guessing wrong, and two words is rarely enough to attribute anything, so an early deliberate miss buys you the context to make the later ones count.
- Vehicle. Open with a mid-era four-door from a common manufacturer. Doors and era are numeric, so they answer with an arrow rather than a yes or no, and starting in the middle of both ranges halves each of them at once.
One rule carries across all four. Amber is worth more than grey and almost as much as teal, because a partial match on a multi-value column tells you the answer shares something with your guess, which is a far narrower statement than an exact match on a column with only two possible values.
Which GTA do these cover?
Grand Theft Auto VI, and only VI. Every answer is drawn from what Rockstar has actually published. The three trailers, the Extended Look, official screenshots and Rockstar's own site. No GTA 5, San Andreas or Vice City subjects appear as answers.
That is a deliberate limit rather than an omission. The game is not out until November 19, 2026, so the character, map and vehicle data here is assembled from pre-release material and every claim carries a source grade, so a Rockstar confirmation and a community reading of a trailer frame never look the same on this site. At launch all four datasets get rebuilt from the released game, and streaks carry through.
Questions
What is a GTA guessing game?
A GTA guessing game is a daily browser puzzle where you identify a character, a location, a line of dialogue or a vehicle from Grand Theft Auto, using clues that narrow down after each wrong guess. The format borrows its once-a-day, limited-guesses, shareable-result structure from Wordle, but you guess whole subjects rather than letters.
What is a GTA guesser?
GTA guesser is another name for the same thing, a game that asks you to guess a GTA subject from progressive clues. GTA6dle runs four of them. A character guesser, a map guessr, a quote guesser and a vehicle guesser, with a new puzzle in each at midnight UTC.
Is there a GTA Wordle?
Yes. GTA6dle is a GTA Wordle. One puzzle per day, colour-coded feedback and an emoji grid you can share without spoiling the answer. It differs from Wordle in that you guess characters, places, quotes and cars instead of five-letter words.
How do you play guess the GTA character?
Type any character from the list and submit. Each guess is scored against the answer across six columns. Gender, side, region, line of work, which trailer they first appeared in, and how many trailers they have appeared in. Teal means an exact match on that column, amber means a partial match, and arrows on the numeric columns tell you whether the answer is higher or lower. Guesses are unlimited, so the round runs until you get it.
Is there a GTA geoguessr or map guessr?
Map mode is the closest thing to it. You pin a location on the map of Leonida and each guess returns the distance to the target, a compass arrow pointing toward it, and a proximity percentage. Unlike GeoGuessr there is no street view, so you are working from the map and from what the trailers have shown of each region.
Which GTA game do the puzzles cover?
Grand Theft Auto VI, set in Leonida. Every character, location, quote and vehicle is drawn from material Rockstar has published. The trailers, the Extended Look, screenshots and the official site. No GTA 5, San Andreas or Vice City subjects appear as answers.
Are these GTA guessing games free?
Yes. All four modes are free and run in any modern browser on desktop or mobile. Streaks are stored in your own browser, and also saved to your account if you choose to sign in.
How many GTA guessing games can you play a day?
Four. Classic, Map, Quote and Vehicle, plus the full back catalogue in the archive, which you can play any time as practice. Only the daily rounds count toward a streak.
